Instead, you can light a non-scented wax luminous and let it burn up for a couple of minutes, until some molten wax forms. In that case, give a few drops of petrol of your choice and the aroma will spread around the room. This is an affordable and healthier way to have aroma at home, ” suggests Bajaj.

Scents for various purposes

Diffusers, which heat essential natural oils and allow their compounds to be released in to the air, can be used. Important oils can freshen up and cleanse one’s home, adds aroma therapist, Medical professional Blossom Kochhar, chairperson of the Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies. “Some essential oils may have a relaxing effect. Some herbal oils can be uplifting and stimulating, while others even have aphrodisiac properties, very well explains Kochhar. Sandalwood has a pleasant, woody smell that instils a sense of inner peace and helps meditation. Jasmine is a subtle and evocative fragrance, which acts as a stimulant, anti-depressant, anti-spasmodic and antiseptic.

“Jasmine creates a good feel, while revitalising and restoring your energy. Lavender has relaxing properties, which help the body and mind to relax and helps deal with insomnia and headaches. Ylang (extracted from a star-shaped yellow flower) oil is well suited for the bedroom. The aroma peps you up, will act as an aphrodisiac and will also help reduce fatigue and stress. The moment the flu is in air, add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil to a divulguer, to prevent coughs and respiratory problems, ” provides Kochhar.

Medicinal properties

“The fragrance of essential natural oils, can modify your disposition, help concentration and clear the area of air-borne bacteria, ” adds Bajaj. Tips to use essential oils in the bedroom

You might have the best bed sheets money can buy or the finest sleepwear to keep you comfy at night, but there’s still room to improve. For your drawers and closets, place cotton tennis balls by drops of lavender oil. You can buy ready made potpourri or make it at home, by using dried rose padding and orange slices, mint, cinnamon and clove. Place the potpourri in détroit or on side dining tables.
